Metalising
Flame galvanisation or metallisation consists of covering the steel with a variable zinc-aluminium protective layer. The metallisation process with zinc or a zinc-aluminium alloy consists of melting the zinc material, in the form of a wire, using a flame-spray gun and compressed air, and spraying it onto the surface to be treated. The metallisation process is always preceded by blasting of the steel surface in order to remove any trace of rust or dirt to achieve a purity level of the metal surface equivalent to the SA2.5 – Sa3 standard, and to achieve the roughness level required for the adhesion of the metallisation.
